Good point Simon, I just made an attempt to move this discussion over to that forum:
http://www.archive.org/iathreads/post-view.php?id=10126

Let's take it up over there, as the bulk of any archive.org "feedstock" from mp3.com effects would probably be a more natural fit over in that part of the Archive.

...Please don't take this as a invitation to start up the "other" LMA/mp3 tabled discussion. I'd really rather wait until Brewster begins to lead any discussion on those issues. Thanks!

Well, I'm not a huge frequenter of the IA and even less of the audio section, though I'm aware of the controversy around mp3s here. I posted the original here because this is the forum attached to the entry point into the IA's audio section and as other's have pointed out there is significant relevance to live music.

Personally, I find that having the etree page be the entry point to the IA audio section confusing. I think it would be better if the audio section were structured like the "moving images" section. There you find a general forum for discussing issues related to movies in the IA. That my post is being treated as flamebait here I think is a good indication that a more value neutral entry point would be a good move for IA users in general.

Jon's working hard developing a new website, I don't personally know if that's a factor...
